2 Year Plan for KCTCS Transfer Students

JMC Two-Year Class Schedules for KCTCS Transfer Students with AA/AS Degrees

For best results, all KCTCS and other transfer students should contact the department chair during their first year of college to arrange an advising conference. This is the only way to assure in advance that transfer credits meet the requirements of the department. Failing to do so will likely result in transfer students having to complete more than 120 total credit hours and more than four semesters to earn their °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û degrees.

KCTCS and other transfer students must also choose a minor or second major and complete any foundation, co-requisite, and university studies requirements in that subject before they transfer. The curriculum guide below does not guarantee transfer students will be able to complete all classes in the minor or second major within four semesters or 120 total credit hours.

This curriculum guide is primarily designed for students for whom fall semester is the first term. Because all classes are not offered each semester, initial enrollment in spring or summer may invalidate the four-semester graduation plan.

Transfer students are strongly encouraged to take both the equivalent and online classes before they complete their KCTCS program. KCTCS equivalent classes are listed in parentheses. Classes marked with an asterisk (*) are offered online by the department each spring semester. Transfer students from other schools must check with the °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û Transfer Center or the department chair for details of transfer credit equivalency. Learn more information about transfer credits.

All students must complete the °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û requirements for University Studies, 42 hours of classes at the 300, 400 or 500 level, at least 120 total hours, and maintain a 2.0 GPA overall and in their major and minor. Students in the Advertising, Journalism, Public Relations, and Television Production majors must also complete at least 72 hours of classes outside the JMC curriculum
