Wildlife Society

Welcome to The Wildlife and Fisheries Society!

Why join The Wildlife Society?

The Wildlife Society is the professional organization for wildlife biologists and the °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û chapter is an extension of the national organization. The Wildlife Society works to enhance members' networking and learning opportunities, professional and career development, and provide numerous ways for them to get more involved in creating a better future for wildlife and their habitats. In the same way, the °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û Chapter provides students with professional development opportunities and networking to enhance their success in a wildlife career. It is important for wildlife students to be involved in a student chapter of The Wildlife Society because becoming a member of The Wildlife Society shows dedication to the field of wildlife biology and this dedication is valued by employers and graduate advisers.

Membership also allows you to make connections with wildlife professionals and learn about ongoing research in the wildlife field. Professional relationships provide references and contacts that give students involved in the Society  a leg up when applying for jobs and internships. These relationships are often developed at national, state, and regional meetings and conferences. The °ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û chapter provides opportunities to attend these events. At conferences and meetings, students are able to learn about research in the wildlife field and stay up-to-date on recent events in the conservation and wildlife biology field.
