Program benefits
The McNair Program provides the following services:
- A $2800 stipend for faculty-mentored undergraduate research, scholarly or creative project
- Scholarship money as an undergraduate based on need
- Assistance in securing financial aid for graduate school
- Free preparation class for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
- Free academic tutoring
- Fee Waivers for many graduate school applications
- Expense Paid Travel Opportunities to attend professional conferences and visit graduate programs
- Monthly activities that prepare Scholars for graduate school on topics such as writing a research proposal and time management skills, or cultural events
- Monthly meetings with the Program Staff to ensure personal and academic success at Murray State
