Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

MURRAY, Ky. 鈥 澳门开奖结果鈥檚 Office of Multicultural Initiatives, Student Leadership and Inclusive Excellence will host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. community breakfast and keynote on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Springhill Suites by Marriott-Murray (Note that this is a new location and date due to projected inclement weather).
This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淟iving the Dream: Continuing the Work鈥 and will feature keynote speaker Dr. Brian Clardy, associate professor of history at Murray State, chair of the board of directors for the Kentucky Humanities Council and chair of the Kentucky Oral History Commission.
The MLK Racers Challenge is a week-long challenge to donate goods to organizations that support the Murray community and surrounding areas. Students, staff, faculty and community members are invited to donate non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies, toiletries and school supplies to help support the community. Donations will be collected on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Springhill Suites by Marriott-Murray from 9-11:30 a.m. and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16-Friday, Jan. 19 at the Dr. Marvin D. Mills Multicultural Center, located in room 101 at the Curris Center on Murray State鈥檚 campus.
Monetary donations can be made to the United Way of Murray-Calloway County Community Fund at. When donating to the United Way, under 鈥渦se this donation for,鈥 select Community Fund. Donations will benefit several organizations throughout the Murray community.
